Drumkits are found in all of the common musical styles we know: Weather it is Latin, Jazz, Funk, Blues, R and B or Hip Hop, the drums make up a part of the typical sound of these musical styles. 

During your lessons with me you will learn a handful of basic rhythms which can be found in various musical styles. You will also learn how to change these basic rhythms in order to create your own, individual drum style.

During the lessons I like to use two drumkits ( or parts of a second drumkit ) Teaching in this manner means we can both play and make music together.

I will also use the bass guitar and the electric guitar as part of the lesson. Combining the drums with other musical instruments is a very logical idea: You will experience very soon that your drumming forms part of a larger band or musical ensemble. 

To explain whatever rhythm we play on the drums, we can write it down and count it out. During your lessons I will make you aware of whatever it is you play. You will experience this practical music theory as beneficial for your own development as a drummer and musician.

Experienced students can explain to me what they want to learn or work on. Together we will develop a lesson plan to stimulate and inspire your own musical goals. Very soon you will experience the drumkit as a musical instrument with endless musical possibilities. A instrument to give you joy and pleasure for the rest of your musical life!
