When you are a beginner we will make a start with playing some open strings. We will learn how to use all your fingers, we will also look at how to use a plectrum.
We will look at the names of the open strings in order to understand how they work. We will play some basic, open chord shapes and play some simple chord sequences. After your first lesson you will actually play some music. All you need to do now is practise to get better at playing the guitar!
Experience
Do you have some experience? Do you know what it is you would like to learn? I can guide you through the learning process of whatever it is you would like to learn with the guitar.
For my own guitar playing I use various techniques which come from Blues, Jazz, Folk and Rock. I am familiar with most popular guitar techniques, and even some of the more unusual ones. Whatever it is you want to learn, I am sure I can offer you some help and tips to ease the learning curve and to make playing the guitar fun again!
Want to get deeper with Slide playing? What about Open Tunings? Or Playing with Sound and Guitar Effects? All of these elements form part of what I play on a daily basis and I love to share my knowledge with you to help you to understand how they can improve your own guitar playing.
Acoustic and Electric Guitar
Is acoustic guitar more your thing? The basic principle of how the guitar works is the same for the acoustic or electric. I love both the acoustic and the electric. The big difference between the two instruments is: The electric guitar needs a amplifier to be heard. A guitar amplifier can be combined with guitar effects to change the natural sound of the guitar into a completely different sound.
During the lessons we play together. Each lesson will contain a new element of how to play the guitar. By playing together you will learn how to master new techniques. I tread each lesson as a session of making music. Making music together is fun and it is important to experience this right from the first moment.
